Killing in the name of
-
-
Do you remember how, way back when (https://dayesofourlives.wordpress.com/2010/02/28/what-doesnt-kill-you/), Fuji Daye had this annoying husband, Elvis the firefighter? He just WOULD NOT DIE no matter how hard I tried. After a LOT of trying and failing to burn him, I finally electrocuted him on the umpteenth attempt, but never got electric ghost babies out of him, so it was slightly in vain. This was the days of yore before my game has Twallan mods all over the place. (And on that topic – WAAAAAH at his retirement) and so I wasn’t cheating and only ever had 8 sims at a time in the family. I thought Elvis was good at evading death. And then I met Dracula.
-
-
He has eaten so many jelly beans – has had almost every reaction possible from them.
-
-
He’s been set on fire, been prickly, had pretty much every moodlet ever. BUT HE HAS NEVER DIED.
-
-
Still, I’d heard the chance of a jelly bean killing someone was super-rare, so I decided to get less picky. There are a whole host of ways sims can die now that we haven’t tried, so he had a go with the fold-up bed.
-
-
I was annoyed when he just got a bad moodlet and wouldn’t go near it again until the moodlet went (and I bought a new bed to see if that worked but he wouldn’t touch that, either.) Eventually he got caught putting it up.
-
-
But he still didn’t die.
-
-
I remembered Fuji’s useless husband who didn’t give us yellow ghost babies, and we DID have a broken laptop.
-
-
He repaired it.
-
-
Then I heard you could turn a sim to gold with the transmuter thingy.
-
-
We turned lots of old books and newspapers and tat into gold bars.
-
-
We even turned gold into gold. But no dice.
-
-
So I thought we’d try something else to see its effect.
-
-
Here Dracula, get a load of this voodoo doll…
-
-
‘That… seems threatening’
-
-
You think?
-
-
It turned him into a zombie.
-
-
And he could transform between toy and zombie form, but still only got gold, no death, from the stone.
-
-
Still, maybe we could get a zombie baby out of it. Only he couldn’t get in the bed, FOR NO REASON.
-
-
Elvira was being a super creeper while they got it on. OK, she was broken because her battery died, but still. On the subject of Elvira, she kept throwing up errors every five seconds, and now Twallan’s gone I just hope someone can understand her error trap files. She wouldn’t go anywhere or do anything much. In the end I had to master control her out of the house. We’ll hold off making more robo-sims for a while, it’s not like we need them taking up room anyway.
-
-
Still, she seemed to be a bit of a mood killer…
-
-
Eventually we got Bathory up the duff. Am pretty sure you can’t have a zombie baby but there’s no harm in trying. (I love how Zombies have the menu of interactions that are all ‘ugh’, ‘aaargh’, ‘braiiins’ etc by the way.)
-
-
With the deed done and the zombie moodlet worn off, we were back on trying something… only this time I had added the clumsy and loser traits to Dracula in case they helped. I was shocked when I saw this. Could it be?
-
-
COULD IT BE?
-
-
Please, please….
-
-
YES!
-
-
New ghost colour success!
-
-
I like how it has feathers!
-
-
Bathory got all the massages she needed.
-
-
I do like the facade on the Starlight Shores spa/book shop.
-
-
Believe this or not, this is her jogging.
-
-
We interrupt this episode to bring you a cute photo of Peter Jones the dragon I forgot to put in the last chapter. Awww.
-
-
Back to business…
-
-
Say hello to little SuperCasino Daye (Bathory’s naming trait is night owl and SuperCasino is what’s on Channel 5 late night after even Big Brother live streaming has stopped. Not that I stay up late watching reality TV or anything….)
-
-
Before I even looked at the baby’s favourite colour (her traits are heavy sleeper and friendly and she isn’t a zombie, nor does she appear to be an imaginary friend), I added Dracula back.
-
-
I don’t know if we’ll keep him but I’ve given him a new LTW, the one that needs to make 10 zombies, just in case. The LTW specifies they must be through the super spell or potent elixir, but thought we’d see if the zombification from the voodoo doll also worked for it.
-
-
Turns out it doesn’t. But hey, Rosanna, you get another shot in!
-
-
Anyway, on to the important stuff…
-
-
…and we have a new baby-making pod to christen! Join us next time to see if Leon Jackson can escape our clutches, and whether all my hard work in killing Dracula pays off with a ghost baby!

I love how the poster behind Dracula is in Spanish not Simlish. LOL.

Maybe the Dayes are trying to learn languages in their “spare” time

Yay for the new ghost colour. I stopped getting jelly bean bushes after one killed a family of four I was playing. First four jelly beans I picked ended them all.

Oh the sims. Kills them when you don’t want it to, lets them live when you want them dead.

I’ve finally caught up! Thank you for making laugh, cry and empathise with you (usually all at the same time). You’ve made me play the sims again, and enjoy legacies! Now the next challenge is blogging them, but having a 1, 4 and 8 yr old, I’ve kind of given up on that… Lol *runs off to read the Kyotis and Rainbow knights and leaves rum and cookies for Rad to enjoy* oh! before I forget, Twallan’s mods are being maintained, keep checking his Nraas website for updates!

Aww, fanks! Yeah, I saw people over at NRaas were keeping the mods going.. and that there’s a new patch out. I might go investigate at some point. Blogging is hard work especially when you have other things on, but you can always do it slowly (that’s my excuse anyhow)
