Oh, Generations. You give in many ways – new interactions, objects and experiences.
Yet in so, so many ways you take away. Memories. Reputations. Compulsory punishments for kids. And the BBFVFS you sem to have turned the Daye and Populous saves into. So this chapter represents three attempts at gameplay. The Dayes should count themselves lucky, though. They can get through two or three sim days at a time. The Populouses are lucky to get through a few hours.
I’m very glad that the first attempt crashed though. Many, many bad things happened.
Bramble wanted to enrol Blackberry in the School of Peace and Love. I didn’t realise at the time this would mean she was sent away until she turned teen – and whilst I’m going to be sending kids to all the private schools, I didn’t want to start that just yet, with all the Generations stuff to play with.
Bramble got old. Without completing ANY of the mixology skill challenges.
Everyone glitched all over the place.
And then this happened. Bugger.
The thing is, I am always telling Mona to cure herself but the architect career is such a pain for vampires with all that hanging around waiting for clients. It was inevitable that one day this would happen – I’m surprised it took so long.
Thing is, I would have just let this happen. I would have waited until Oh My Ghost! came up and resurrected her – in many ways, a ghost Mona would be easier to manage, although it’d be a shame that my thirst ghost was the spouse of an heir who’d already given kids to the legacy rather than an actual descendant.
Look though, snazzy gravestone, even without achieving her LTW.
Of course though, all of this never happened. So onto the second attempt.
Pregnant-looking elderly townies isn’t a *great* sign.
Alley had to eat at the restaurant for a celebrity opportunity. I sent her with Lola Belle to see a) if that’d help her celeb score and b) to start a plan I have in motion. They just stood around. The game crashed again.
Still, third time’s a charm right? The maid looked like she was cleaning… but there were still a load of dirty surfaces, plates, rubbish and laundry around, so I think she believes putting away ONE thing of food is worth my 125 simoleans.
I like the idea of Blackberry being a bit naughty, so she put a whoopee cushion under the sofa.
Why grandma, what a comfortable seat…
It’s a bit disappointing that her reaction was just to get up and pull a face. Boo, EA, where’s the funny noise? Mona got a -10 1h ‘Pranked’ moodlet, whilst Blackberry got a 12h +15 ‘successful prank’ one. The gains outweigh the losses (well, they did in this case because Blackberry wasn’t caught).
Alley finally ate at the restaurant. She had the wrong food, ate it, was given some excellent vegetables and puked her guts up. Oh.
These two are still being romantic. For my cunning plan. Which I hope will come into fruition next chapter.
I still don’t understand what you lot are up to. I thought it might be a gnome baby, but none as yet.
And finally… Mona and I made a big decision.
I couldn’t stand the sunlight reactions any longer, so we bought her the un-vampire potion from the science lab (although she wouldn’t drink it in front of me, so I didn’t see the animation). This now puts her at 0 days to elderhood and she doesn’t have enough LTH yet to buy the age freeze potion or the resetting back to young adulthood – but hopefully she’ll manage to earn more before she dies so we can turn back the tide and get her LTW to complete. If she doesn’t, I think we’ll just call time on it and declare it impossible.
Sorry it’s so short – limited time to play, and limited success when playing – but join us next time to see how my plans for Alley and Puddle develop, to discover if Bramble can get anywhere at all with mixology and to hopefully see Blackberry playing with Generations some more.

AAAAAckkkk ARRGGGGHHHH!
You appear to be having the same splendiferous experience as I am with huge existing saves after Generations. The sims stand there, rooted to the ground, while hours tick away. LTWs go unrealized, potential spouses get away, and relationships disintegrate for lack of interaction.
Oh! And I’m impressed that your maids go inside the house. Mine just stand outside the door and charge $125 for gracing the lot with their immobile presence.
Interesting look to the thirst ghost and tombstone, even though they never happened. =-/ And I love it when Grimmy is confused – that “?” thought bubble is too funny! Hey… did you ever try to have Mona bite him?

My maids weren’t going into the house. This is a new development after installing Generations!
Oooh, I should SO get Puddle to try and bite Grimmy!
Generations has generally screwed my files up, although the Knights are mostly coping OK. The Populous file is a MESS.

Short or not I’m glad you got to update us on the Dayes
I hope that you manage to sort out the Populous file, I think I would cry if you got so close to finishing and couldn’t do it because of glitches and it’s not even my file!
Generations messed up most of my files I had laying around as well, though in different ways. Some files have people stuck in beds, people can’t pick up toddlers and in one file no matter what I do people will NOT age at all. And of course my favorite *sarcasm* glitch is the one where people think they need 4 bloody hours to change their clothes, making things like graduation ceremonies near impossible. Ugh.
Hope everything is going ok with your PhD and you can spend more time simming!

Ugh indeed. I wish they would stop screwing things up with new EPs/patches.
I have some strategies to try with the Populouses. I am determined to finish it.
PhD going OK, week off at the moment

The Home-Design Hotshot LTW isn’t impossible. I actually managed to have a Sim do it on normal lifespan, and she wasn’t a vampire. If the Sim attempting it has the “observant” LTR, and has been in the household since at least the early YA stage, it’s possible to do before death if you don’t have the moodlet manager, and before elder stage if you do have it.

Really? Mona is lucky if she can do two houses in a day, so you’d need 50 perfect days once you’ve reached a high career level. Well done if you have managed that though, I take my hat off to you.

I hope the glitching gets better at some point! D: at least Mona can drink the Vampirism cure – I think there’s a glitch that ghosts can’t, but it might just be the thirst ghosts… Hmm. I’ll have to check.

Really? When Puddle’s had his kids I will get him to try.

I don’t know if it’s just my game that’s got the glitch – I had a human vamp sim on another save file to drink the Vampirism Cure, but he wouldn’t so I used resetsim, then when I played again he wasn’t a vampire. XD sims are weird. So, if you want Puddle to stay a vampire, don’t let me stop you.

This was a very unexpected, but pleasant, surprise when I got home from a loooong day, so thank you for the update
I got jack of the vampires as well; I keep getting pale blonde’s and I can’t take it anymore. So it’s back to normal sims for me, although I will miss the kids doing their homework so fast

YaY! An update! *offers cookies to everyone*
a short and sweet update <3
it's a shame on the glitches! I had a ton of them in the beginning but most seem to have smoothen out for me. So just hang in there. What I noticed is that the game runs SO much better if I start it by clicking the base-game icon instead of the generations-icon on my desktop. Perhaps that could be given a try?
I love the boobytraps, all the cushions have whoopee cushions and the showers have dies and the sinks are going to be spraying in the McCool house xD The whoopee cushion is a bit of a downer though I agree
Vampire ghosts are wicked! I want one of those some day =3
As always, the update was awesum, shame on the glitches and I'll keep my fingers crossed they get sorted somehow <3

I don’t use the game icons anyway, I run it through 3Booter because it has an FPS limiter, and having fried one computer and one graphics card already, I’m taking no more risks!!
The Dayes’ glitches are nothing compared to the Populouses’. I can’t wait to have more time to experiment. Study is kind of my life for the next two months but then, if I work hard, it should be over and I will have a fraction more free time.

I never heard of 3booter, sounds like a neat program though!

Yay More Dayes!
Good luck with the PHD.
At least you haven’t had the I’ve had the baby but I’m keeping the preg bump and still think I’m preg with the associated bad back, and still getting morning sickness, etc moodlets, and thus can’t try for another baby.

I’ve seen that in someone else’s legacy as well. Sounds annoying…

Hi Rad,
When you only have teens in your household and you get an opportunity-like thing offering the adults in the house a free vacation, don’t accept it. The adults never come back and the teens glitch – you send them to do something and they don’t do it and suddenly appear in different rooms and stuff D: So glad I had another save file of the Mustangs!

Think that might just be your game… the Knights had that opportunity and they were fine…

Could be, not sure though – a lot of people have had the glitch apparently, I had a look on the web…

Eep. Well, the Dayes will have to try it anyway, it’s in the rules, but I hope that’s not a glitch I get, sounds unpleasant.
